Annonay in 1936. A Pharmacist and a Homeopath observed that bread, now made from white flour, had lost a significant part of its vitamins, minerals, and fibre content. They decided to promote wholesome products under the Céréal brand. The first two Céréal products, wholemeal flour and biscuits, were born. In 1972 Céréal becomes the first organic Group in France.
Today one in two French people eat organic products at least once a month. Organic produce and derived products are everything but a marginal fad. In the current food climate - healthy, safe and natural - organic food is far beyond just emerging. It was high time to modernise it, make it good, simple and easily accessible for everybody. Céréal Bio has revolutionised organic food in groceries with the arrival of over 20 items in the organic shelf. A range of tastes, complementary nutritional contributions, quickly prepared, and convenient are all terms that apply to these ready-to-use cereal products which can be roasted, cooked, to soups, biscuits, and to those products available in the fresh food shelf. All these products are, by virtue of their convenience, perfectly suited to today's lifestyles. They are largely produced from cereals, which form the basis of our culinary heritage. Industrialisation brought more sophisticated products to the market, gradually edging cereals out. N&S has, with Céréal Bio, determined to re install cereals at the heart of our meals and to offer their nutritional richness to all. This bears witness to the passion which has always driven N&S when it comes to diversity and the interests of our cereal heritage. Eating healthily also involves respecting Mother Earth. Céréal Bio offers products from organic farms, without GM elements, pesticides or colourants.
